- TCP/IP Communications Software
-
- TCP/IP is the standard for communicating among diverse computer systems running
- under different operating environments and on different host processors. A
- member of CMC's networking products, TCP/System V.2 for SCO XENIX is the
- standard for high-performance multi-functional TCP/IP networking software.
- Designed to execute on the CMC-640 intelligent Ethernet network processor for
- the PC/AT, TCP/System V.2 provides users the optimum solution for front-end
- processing of network protocols. Since the majority of the protocol processing
- is taken over by the intelligent Ethernet controller, the 80386-based SCO XENIX
- host is freed to perform the tasks for which it was designed. In addition,
- network throughput is increased through use of a powerful, dedicated network
- processor, streamlined TCP/IP protocols and interfaces and maximum use of the
- network bandwidth
-
- TCP/System V.2 provides the best networking features, applications, utilities
- and programming interfaces of the Berkeley 4.3 BSD operating system for the SCO
- XENIX environment. The most popular applications such as Telnet, FTP, rlogin,
- rcp, remsh, rwho, talk, network mail using SMTP and sendmail, and Domain Name
- Service are included. Finally, a comprehensive socket library is provided in
- the form of C language subroutines to facilitate development of applications
- using TCP, UUP, raw IP, and raw Ethernet protocols.
